Private Rock Climbing Coaching

Private Rock Climbing Coaching
If you want to improve your climbing at any level then our personal coaching days will suit you. Whether it is a single day or a week. We are bound to be able to help you break new ground in terms of difficulty and commitment.

Sometimes our courses are not exactly what you want or when you want them. As such we offer private rock climbing coaching and instruction that are tailored to what you want at a time that is convenient for you. These courses can include any of the aspects that our main courses run and will be designed specifically with you in mind.

We specialise in this type of course and find that it allows us to focus on what you need to progress in your climbing. Whilst we do run these courses 1 to 1 they are much better to do with your regular climbing partner.

The general format of the courses is some pre-course questioning to your needs and current climbing level. We use this information to select a venue that will best suit your needs. We then get you to climb a route within your ability and based on what we observe start our coaching from there.

We feel this student-centred method of coaching where we use observation prior to offering advice a very effective way to help deliver a solution just the specific issues we see. Nearly all subsequent application of the lessons and interventions we teach will generally be done with you on lead. Making the course feel really relevent to your rock climbing.

The types of coaching topic we cover on this course are:

  • Foot work
  • Body Positon
  • Balance
  • Tactics
  • Mental Skills
  • Route Choice
  • Reading Routes

These courses do not neccessary look at training, however we do offer advice on tailoring you training to your specific needs at the end of the course. As well as giving you a few things to focus on in the immediate future. We have found that 95% of the people 95% of the time improve their grade during a two day coaching courses through the application of technique and tactics.
