Dinas Cromlech

Dinas Cromlech
One of the best crags in the whole world. Dinas Cromlech is home to too many classic to name but everyone should aim to climb Cenotaph Corner and Cemetry Gates, both stunning E1’s.

Crags of this standard are few and far between, to say this is a world-class is something of an understatement. The routes here have been at the cutting edge of rock climbing since the initial forays onto the easier routes in the 1930’s. After that, the main aim was to get up the amazing corner that split the open book that dominates the Llanberis Pass.

It would take many failed attempts and another 20 years before climbing Legend Joe Brown and his climbing partner Doug Belshaw to finally make it to the top. Cenotaph Corner was and still is a much sort after classic E1 and it is still no pushover, along with it’s more amenable neighbour Cemetry Gates. Around the same feature are the more challenging Left Wall, E2 and Resurrection, E4 and then the much more imposing Right Wall, E5 and its direct version Lord of The Flies, E6.

The crag is not all about the routes around the Cenotaph Corner, there are many excellent routes from VDiff upwards that will suit many climbers.
