Moroccan Climbing Adventure – 14 day
Back in 2003 I had a delightful trip away to Morocco with 8 friends, we spent a month climbing in both Trafroute in the Anti-Atlas and Todra Gorge. We trad climbed, sported climbed and bouldered. Took an adventurous Land Rover ride off-road from one venue to another and generally had one of the times of my life.
Our plan is to take you to Tafroute in the anti-Atlas mountains which are a stunning semi-desert made up of Granite cliffs and boulders and quartzite moutnains. As such it has bouldering, sport and trad climbing galore. The mountains are like Gogarth rock with routes from severe upwards.
W can then either catch a bus or maybe opt for an off-road 4×4 journey to the Todra Gorge where there are some of the best multipitch sports routes in the world leading out of the 250-metre deep vertical cleft. Plus lots more climbing around the valley itself.
What this trip is not, is a package holiday, Morocco is a still-developing nation and as such the trip has an adventurous and pioneering feel. We will have time to soak up the culture and cuisine of the region. Set in North Africa the weather is often amazing during our winter so we are planning the trip in January 2019. The course operates on a maximum ratio of 1 to 3 and we can split our time between guiding, instruction and coaching. This climbing holiday is more than just a instructional sport climbing sun rock trip. Instead view this trip as one of life’s great climbing adventures.
